I would like to introduce you to a Nigerian cuisine that’s served at home and in most events.
3 tablespoon of Cooking oil
1 Knorr Magic
Chilli Pepper (optional if you don’t want it to be spicy)
1 tsp of black pepper
1 tsp of curry powder
2 tablespoon of salt
1 tube of medium yam
1) Add three tablespoon of cooking oil, 1 knorr magic and cooked stew into the pan. Cook for 5mins
2) Add one tablespoon of chilli pepper, one teaspoon of black pepper and curry. Then add two tablespoons of salt. Cover the pot with the lid. Stir the stew at 2 minutes interval. Cook for 20 minutes.
3) While the stew is cooking, peel and cut the tuber of yam into medium sizes. Rinse the yam cubes and add it into the pot. Then add 1500 litres of water, an extra cube of knorr and salt to taste. Stir the pot. Cook for 20 minutes
4) use a spoon to mash the cubes when it’s soft. Feel free to leave little yam cubes. Cook for 2 mins.
Viola, you’ve made your Nigerian asaro (Yam Porridge). It can be eaten alone or served with plantain and boiled egg. Let me know how you get on. Enjoy!
